BOOK COVER

I was approached by a woman who has a book coming out very soon. She had already got a design for her front cover, whoever wasnt too happy with it, she told me that her current design just 'wasnt her'

After seeing some of my illustrations she decided she wanted me to come up with a new design, heres what i got:

Thankfully she loved it!! Look out for this design in your book stores ;)

LADY GAGA

So yeah. had a go at drawing a cartoon of Lady GaGa. i used Illustrator and Photoshop to do it and think it turned out pretty good. Im working on this style of illustration atm, so keep an eye out for more to come :)

MICROBLOGGING

Views on microblogging, is it a good form of communication or just a way for people to update their friends on useless trinkets of information?

I believe microblogging to be a success. With social networking in the rise, I think it’s only an added benefit that such tools as Twitter are being used in a professional context too. Companies are able to communicate with clients in an easy way, a simple shout out of no more than 140 characters and you have informed a lot of people in one go. This sort of communication can help keep the client relationships strong.

Some may understandably dismiss microblogging right away, believing posts to be of no real relevance, and instead just light-hearted updates of information with no relevance to the reader. However i couldn’t disagree more. I believe twitter, and other real time media platforms open up the opportunity for people to play witness to events as they happen. Take for example a car crash, or the recent volcano in Iceland. People tweet about it or write on any other social networking site, as it happens, allowing others who might not have already been aware f the event to know.

As with anything, microblogging is not without its concerns. There are worries to do with the privacy for example. There is the risk of user-submitted content being submitted by a non-employe or someone out to make ‘a fool of’ someone or a company. However, understanding the pricy control and adhering to it correctly would diminish all chances of this, surely?

In short, i believe microblogging to be a success, and as long and government run organizations or professional companies (etc) understand and make use of the privacy control, i can’t see how people will not be benefited by the use of microblogging.

SOMETHING I WOULD LIKE TO TRY

I was looking at different forms of blogging and such today and cam across Daily Booth. Their welcome scrren reads,

WELCOME TO DAILYBOOTH, YOUR LIFE IN PICTURES.

Document and share your life with others. Get real time updates on what
your friends and family are doing every day.

The idea behind this site is that the user uploads a picture of themselves every day accompanied by a small slogan. This then updates other users of what you are up to in easy small portions with the addition of visual material.

Well, This site got me to thin king, and i remember ages ago i cam across this site where you upload a picture of yourself every day, and over the years you make a slideshow type thing of your aging progress. I cant for the life of me remember what its called, so if anyone has any idea, please let me know!

A TRIP TO 1000HEADS FOR A PLAY WITH THEIR IPAD AND MI-FI

Im seriously loosing track of days, but I believe it was last Thursday or was it Friday? Its not important, what is important is that I had my first play with an iPad! Needless to say, all my pre-judgments flew out the window and i was in love!

I have to say; the interactive story of Alice in Wonderland application was probably my favorite. The combination of interactivity, stunning visuals along side they story line conjured up a perfect mix. I think any child would find reading a lot more interesting and less of a ‘homework-esque’ chore if more eBooks like this were published.

The other applications I had a play with also didn’t let me down. A milestone above the iphone or the ipod touches applications, the height resolution screen allowed for a more enjoyable experience. If I had t fault the iPad (which is difficult, granted) I would say that the lack of inbuilt camera is a little bit of a let down. But then I think, who would really hold up a (approx) 9.5-inch by 7.5-inch device to take a picture? Who knows what’s in the pipe line anyway, maybe there will be camera that connects to the iPad, maybe the next generation will have an in built camera?

Not only did i get the chance to test drive an iPad before i buy one (because i will) i got to try out 3 mobiles new Mi-Fi. If you took an average dongle, allowed it to connect 5 devices at one time, each to a fast and efficient service anywhere you like, you would be pretty much on the mark with what this new device from 3 mobile allows. Videos were loading pretty much right away, and sites would load at one click! Needless to say, I was impressed.

I also feel I should note, the people at 1000heads are so nice!

my mums gone to a miniature horse show today, she breeds and shows them aswell as miniature pigs! so im home with dad, which means takeouts all weekend as neither of us are particularly good in the kitchen haha. im not complaining tho, i love chinese!!

do you know what annoys me... the fact that i have to now pack all my liquids and creams into little pots so i can take them abroad. its extra, unnecessary hassle! im not happy. although i got this pretty nifty little pack from boots (i think it was boots, my sist
er got it for me lol) it has little pots for each thing! look....
how sick do i look there, ive just been out in the garden!! haha

which reminds me... i caught my dog poppy rolling in what looked like a decaying rat covered in maggots.... it made me feel physically sick!

im going back to uni soon, i think i only have a few more weeks in devon, so i need to make the most of them. i have mixed feeling about going back to Bournemouth at the moment. i mean yes i want to go back and see everyone and Bournemouth is a lovely place, but i will miss good old devon and all my mates round here.
it seems like as soon as you get settled in one place your up rooted and have to go back to the there and start it all over again. needless to say, it is worth it. im having such a good time! and my course isnt too bad either...

an insightful update on my exciting life

Hope you like the image guys. Another one for the tee's.
so im sat here, about to go to bed, listening to my acoustic playlist on spotify (god i love whoever created spotify) and it occurred to me that im going back to my old ways... not writing in my blog enough. Thus we have this insightful post!

Todays been an ok day. the weathers been good again, even if we did have a TINY shower in the middle of the day. its really starting to look like summers on its way (touch wood).

Have you ever had one of those moments... where you suddenly realize that everythings going past you really fast. your first year of uni is over, your looking at renting your first house, summer holidays are nearly over which means the second year of uni is looming. It really is a bit daunting when you think about it.

I NEED TO PRACTICE CODING!!!!!
